Launched in 2015, The Orchards Café and Soft Play is a real place of welcome, a community hub for all in Meadgate and beyond.
COFFEE SHOP
Serving barista coffees, teas and light meals (see our menu below) it’s a great place to come and meet with friends. We’re often frequented by other community groups, clubs, meetings etc. and are regularly privileged to welcome our local parish councillors, community police officers as well as our own church ministry, community and pastoral teams making themselves available for a chat and when you need a bit of support.
SOFT PLAY AREA
SOFT PLAY
Our soft play is the only one like it in Meadgate and is the choice for many as a smaller family friendly place to meet with other pre-school children and parents/carers.
CHILDREN’S PARTIES
We can offer our café and Soft Play to hire for children’s parties on Saturdays – contact us via The Cafe Manager for details. Subject to conditions and availability throughout the year.
SENSORY PLAY
Once a month on the 1st Saturday morning, we open our doors to families with young children who live with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities). It’s a great opportunity to meet with other families who face the same challenges and we usually have one or two people on hand with specific knowledge and experience to chat to.

VOLUNTEERING
We have a small core staff team but welcome volunteers to help the smooth running of the operation (serving, cooking, baristering, washing up and cleaning etc.). Our volunteer team are vital to makings us affordable in our community. It’s a great way for giving back in life, learning new skills and building confidence. Let us know if it’s something you would like to do.
