To have bread or not to have bread? That is the question
Was it better to be the one with the bread, or to be the one with nothing? Sally illustrates that it is better to be totally reliant upon Jesus than to rely partially on our own resources as well as Jesus. She encourages us to lay everything down and believe that Jesus is the answer!
Following a good example
Mones expands the set reading to encourage us to find and follow good examples.
Evil forces do exist, but so does Jesus!
Powers and principalities are still rife in the world, so Mones encourages us to stand firm with Jesus. He goes deeper, highlighting our tendency to 'demonise' other humans instead of seeing the problem for what it is - a spiritual battle.

God wants to talk to us and be involved in the whole of our life. Anne talks about the blessing of hearing God speak to us and acting on it.
Remind yourself who God is

No matter what we face, whatever is going on around us we need to rise above it and see the great plans of our great God. We must feed our spirit on the things that build faith so that our level of expectancy can rise.

God wants us to grow - food and water
Mones tells us that the most limiting factor in the Church is Christians that are not growing continuously. God intended us to grow and develop and he provides all that we need for growth to occur - His word as food, His word as an offensive weapon and the water of the Holy Spirit. We must be approaching the word in partnership with the Spirit of God, then we can truly grow.
